Join us on the fishing trip of a lifetime for peacock bass, the fabled arapaima, redtail catfish or the enormous piranha that can reach a fighting weight of more than 200 kilos. On this tour you have the opportunity to experience everything from heavy and passive catfish fishing to light and active fishing. Either way, you can look forward to 5 days of fishing action and heavy fights.

At 3250 kilometers, Madeira is the largest tributary in the entire Amazon. The river is actually considered one of the largest in the world, with a water flow of an impressive 31,200 cubic meters per second. In comparison, the Gudenå River has a water flow of 32.4 cubic meters per second. It’s not without reason that Porto Velho, through which Madeira flows in Brazil, is called the ‘angling capital’, because with more than 800 different species of fish, the richness of the river is in a league of its own. Maderia is world-renowned for a large population of arapaima, jau and red tail catfish, which are also the main species we will be fishing for in Madeira.

The Jaci is a small tributary of Madeira and the hotel we’re staying at is almost on the banks of the Jaci and Madeira, so from the hotel to the boats we fish from is less than five minutes by car. The hotel is family-run and every morning we have access to a large breakfast buffet where everything is homemade. We stay in shared double rooms with air conditioning. Each room has a shower and toilet. In Jaci there is good fishing for tiger catfish, xx catfish, freshwater rays and piranhas. In the lower part of Jaci there are plenty of opportunities to see river dolphins.

Program:

Day 1
Departure from Kastrup Airport. Typically, the flight from Copenhagen Airport to Porto Velho takes between 22 and 32 hours. 2-3 stopovers are to be expected.

Day 2
Arrival in Porto Velho, Brazil. After arrival, we are transferred as a group to our hotel in Jaci. This takes place in either a minivan or SUV.

Day 3 – 7
Full day of fishing in Madeira or Jaci. Breakfast is available at the hotel from 05:00 – 05:30. Breakfast is a buffet with a large selection of freshly prepared food, consisting of local dishes. At approx. 05:30 we are driven to the boats, which are located 5 minutes from the hotel. from 06:00 – 18:00 we fish. In the middle of the day we have lunch on the river, where we have grilled beef with rice, salad and seasonal side dishes.

Day 8
After breakfast, we will be driven to Porto Velho, where we will have the opportunity to see the city and possibly buy some souvenirs for those back home. During the afternoon, we are dropped off at the airport and fly to Denmark.

Day 9
Arrival at Kastrup Airport.

The tour program is indicative and subject to change. However, there will be no change to the tour containing 5 full fishing days. A complete and more detailed tour program will be sent out approximately 30 days before departure.
